'Thing 1 Thing 2' Party

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

I had the pleasure of working with Daphna as she prepared for her twin boys' 1st birthday party. She contacted me through Etsy to order the Dr. Seuss invitation set. Then she learned that I could create many more coordinating pieces.

Daphna ordered tent cards, 'thing 1 thing 2' stickers, quotes signs, a welcome sign, a guest book sign, name tags, candy buffett stickers, bookmarks, water bottle labels, and bubble bottle labels. She even added some of her own personal touches to the bookmarks and tent cards. Yep, as you can imagine, this party was a hit!

The one thing I miss out on is seeing all of the pieces put into place. So, when Daphna sent me some pictures, I was excited to see everything set up for this big event. I'm thankful that I got to play a small part in it. Thanks, Daphna!

Chalkboard Project

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Chalkboard fonts, chalkboard quotes, chalkboard frames, chalkboard labels... They're everywhere. So, I decided to finally put the chalkboard spray paint I bought many months ago to good use.

I used an old frame I had packed away in a closet for years now. I took the glass out and painted it a few thick coats. I decided not to paint the frame at all. Only took a few minutes and only cost me about $2...that's my favorite kind of project!

Then, only a few days later, I decided to add chalkboard labels to the white canisters in my kitchen. Again, super easy. I spray painted an adhesive label sheet a couple of thick coats. Once it was dry, I cut a few strips from it and stuck them to the canisters. VoilĂ !

Time to put down the spray paint and pick up the paper....Next on my list: chalkboard invitations.

Studio 158

Friday, January 25, 2013

It's official...pixels to paper is opening a studio in the Mellwood Art Center located just minutes from downtown Louisville!

Mellwood Art Center was originally a meat packaging facility, but has been renovated into a 360,000 square foot home to over 200 artist studios, office spaces and specialty stores. The building has been the host to many art fairs, wedding receptions, concerts and numerous other events.

My friend, owner of Stephanie Lynn Photography, and I decided to share Studio 158. The high ceilings and exposed brick has a lot of character and we're looking forward to decorating our new space.

If you live in or around the Louisville area, please be sure to let me know...I'd love for you to stop by to see some of my designs in person!

Alyssa's 6th Birthday Party

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

My daughter, Alyssa, decided that she wanted Taylor Swift (her favorite singer) to be the theme for her 6th birthday party.

I used the album cover photo, titled 'RED', within the invitation design and on the thank you cards. I created coordinating water bottle labels and ordered red velvet cupcakes from Kroger, which were a hit.

Thought it would be cool to create CDs with Alyssa's favorite songs for her to pass out to all of her classmates on her actual birthday since the party was on the Saturday prior. Alyssa's Party Mix ranges from 'When Can I See You Again' to 'Party In The U.S.A.', and of course 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' is on it.

Oh, and my husband and I bought tickets for the three of us to see Taylor in concert in May. Shhh, don't tell Alyssa. I cannot wait to share the surprise with her!

Rhinestones, Ribbon and Wands...Oh My!

Thursday, November 15, 2012

I've had several requests recently for "girly" invitations. I love creating unique ones that really match the guest of honor's personality or the theme of an event. Fun!

You can do so much with some rhinestones, bright colors, shimmery cardstock, ribbon and little wands. Plus, the thickness of ribbon can change up an invitation completely.

Congratulations, Tiffany...Rennah is beautiful and I can't wait to meet her! And Happy Birthday, Annabelle...one of the sweetest little girls I know!

Happy Halloween

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

I love this time of year. Festivals, candy, cooler weather, holidays, leaves changing, bonfires...what's not to love about autumn?

Tonight the kids and I created their Halloween classroom treats. Alyssa's was pretty simple, but she loved choosing each friend's gifts (pencils, erasers, sticker sheets, etc). I loved that she could address the tags...more personal and less work for me. I couldn't help myself but to make Drew's similar to what we had created for Alyssa's class last year since it was so easy. We painted mini clay pots to look like candy corn, filled them with fruit snacks and threw in a spider ring and tag. Then I wrapped them in clear bags and tied them with ribbon.

Feel free to use the tag below. Have a safe and happy Halloween!

I am a Princess

Friday, October 19, 2012

Have you heard the new Disney commercial yet? If you have young kids, you may have. I love it. So, I decided to create an 8x10" print of the inspirational words and hang it up in my daughter's room. I got the frame and custom mat from Michael's. The frame was 40% off and to my surprise the mat only took a couple of minutes to cut. Oh, and there's a Walgreen's special going on right now...free 8x10" print. All you need to do is right click on your favorite one below. Enjoy!
